The CPI: A new framework to identify workforce education needs

As the use of genomics becomes more widespread across all areas of healthcare, it is important to develop a common approach to the training and education of NHS professionals. To meet this need, the Genomics Education Programme has developed the Clinical Pathway Initiative (CPI). Each CPI project is built around a clinical pathway where genomic testing is being embedded. Each pathway is broken into component steps, and the relevant competencies required for each step are identified. Education resources to support each competency are then suggested. Find out more about the CPI and the first completed pathway.
